Bold, curious, and luminous, Clothilde Bénard is a soprano who doesn't just sing: she tells, she explores, she transcends. Originally from Reims, she weaves her musical journey like an adventure where each note is a stopover and each scene, a world to conquer.
Her love for music was born in the echo of great voices, in the thrills of the first lyrical emotions. Very early on, she immersed herself in the world of singing at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Reims, before refining her art at the Département Supérieur pour Jeunes Chanteurs in Paris.
There, she developed a unique vocal language, a subtle blend of raw emotion and technical rigor.
Her admission to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, in Chantal Mathias' class, marks a turning point. Clothilde forges a voice there that seeks not to impress but to touch, a voice that captures and transforms.
Musical Journey
Her journey continues in New York, where the Manhattan School of Music introduces her to another way of inhabiting sound, of embracing music in all its freedom. But Clothilde does not just play roles: she creates universes. With pianist Park Jiyeong, she imagines Carnet de Voyage, an intimate show where her grandmother's memories become melodies, colors, and scents from elsewhere. A project that is not just a recital, but an immersion in time and memory, planned for 2025.
Her desire for transmission and renewal pushes her even further: "Fées des Champs", a festival that she founded and directs, is a celebration of the voice, nature and encounter. A bold idea, in her image, which will see the light of day in 2025. Passionate about languages - German already conquered, Korean in learning - she crosses cultures as she crosses scores, in search of new sounds, new emotions. Between tradition and modernity, between exploration and rooting, Clothilde Bénard is an artist of travel, of the moment, and of resonance.
