Clothilde Bénard is a French soprano whose voice is distinguished by its richness, sensitivity, and expressive stage presence. She began her musical training at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Reims and the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris, before joining the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP), where she recently completed her Bachelor’s degree in the studio of Cécile Achille.
Her artistic development has already taken her to several international programs and stages. She has participated in the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory and the Opera for Peace Academy, where she worked under the mentorship of artists including Renée Fleming and Denyce Graves. In summer 2026, she joined the Aspen Music Festival and School, where she made her operatic stage debut in a principal role as the First Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, conducted by Patrick Summers.
Her repertoire ranges from Mozart to the broader lyric soprano repertoire, with a particular affinity for lyrical heroines. She is also deeply committed to Lied and French mélodie, as well as American and Asian vocal repertoire.
A recipient of the Grand Prix Révélation at the Concours d’Avignon and a First Prize winner at the Opera Index Vocal Competition in New York, Clothilde Bénard is also a member of the Génération Opéra 2027–2028 cohort.
Alongside her operatic work, she maintains an active interest in recital and chamber music. She is a member of the Franco-Korean duo Néoria with pianist Jiyeong Park, whose work explores Lied and mélodie across a wide range of languages and musical traditions.
During the 2026–27 season, she will continue her artistic development through a masterclass with Luciana D’Intino at Opéra Grand Avignon and a recording for France Musique. She continues to develop her career between France, the United States, and the international opera stage.
